Hi -

Still pretty slow for Rock Creek DC at this time of year, and not helped
today by the park's perverse habit of starting loud, disturbing maintenance
work right where all the birders are at the peak time of day! Today it was
taking down and chipping a half-fallen tree. Argghhh!

Anyway, we did see (and often, just hear) birds but numbers are still low
and where are the Acadian Flycatchers?

Warblers (12 species): Black-and-White (1), Black-throated Blue (4),
Black-throated Green (1), Blackpoll (6-8, some seen very well),
Chestnut-sided (1), Hooded (1, male maybe on territory behind Nature Ctr?
Has been there over a week...), Magnolia (1), Myrtle (~25), Ovenbird (7),
Parula (4), Redstart (4-5), Common Yellowthroat (2).

Other migrants: Rose-breasted Grosbeak (3), Scarlet Tanager (6), Baltimore
Oriole (5), Indigo Bunting (6), Yellow-billed Cuckoo (2), Swainson's Thrush
(3), Gray-cheeked Thrush (1, heard by another birder), Cedar Waxwing (~20).
