I annually visit the Delaware Coast in mid-May to see Horseshoe Crabs and Shorebirds. My favorite spot is at the north end of Slaughter Beach, at the Mispillion River Inlet where a lighthouse and restaurant once stood, the end of Ceder Creek Road. I just discovered that this point, the defunct restaurant property, has been purchased by the state of Delaware for shorebird viewing. The point will eventually have an interpretive center. For more information see a July 2004 article at the address listed below. This is the best currently available information I could locate, supplied by Karen A. Bennett, Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife, Smyrna, Delaware.
