What sits high in big trees and goes chirp-chirp-(pause)-chirp (lower in
pitch), the same thing over and over? Not very musical, but definite in
pitch. I'm pretty sure it's not on any of the popular bird song CDs, or the
Thayer birding software, but of course those concentrate mostly on
courtship/territorial songs. Whatever it is, it was at little Bennett today
as well as last Sunday, just across MD121 from the parking lot. There was a
male Baltimore Oriole nearby, and also a flock of Cedar Waxwings, but I've
never heard this vocalization from either of those.

Other than that, things were pretty routine - 40 species, but no surprises.
