Interesting birds continue to turn up in DC. This (Sat) morning Rob Hilton,
Lisa Shannon & I birded Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens and environs, and found a
LINCOLN'S SPARROW along the boardwalk near the first lookout area. Then,
while looking over the marsh, a late SOLITARY SANDPIPER flew by. KAG also
continued to have a YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT singing from the trees along the
boardwalk, and at least 3 WILLOW FLYCATCHERS singing in the marsh.

I then went over to Kenilworth Park, and though I was unable to relocate the
Eastern Meadowlark and Snow Goose from last week, I did see an adult
RED-HEADED WOODPECKER flyover. And the FIELD SPARROW that Rob found there
yesterday was singing today, joined by a second bird in another part of the
park. There were at least 3 YELLOW-BREASTED CHATS singing at the park
(different from the KAG birds), along with a pair of BLUE GROSBEAKS.

From there I went to the Arboretum, and found the PINE WARBLER Rob reported
yesterday, as well as another Y-B CHAT singing in a different part of the
Arb (heard near the NY Ave entrance, in the direction of the small pond).

Good birding,
