Today's interesting bird in my Chase/Middle River atlas block was a Cattle Egret seen on Ebenezer Rd. just east of Earl's Beach Rd. The bird was in the air. It flew north then circled back to the south, so I got a long look.
There are a couple of farms in the neighborhood, including one with horses.
I will mark this bird as "observed" on the survey; Cattle Egrets are colony nesters, and I don't know where the nearest colony would be. However, they do wander quite a bit in the summer.
