Sue - The smallest IPOD (Shuffle) will hold approximately 20 CD's. The
problem there is that you cannot pick which song you'd like to hear. Sort
of birding jeopardy I suppose.
The IPOD mini will hold 1500 songs, or approximately 100 CD's. I personally
use the 20 Gig IPOD which holds more songs, bird calls, and daily Pod-Cast
news downloads than I can ever listen to.
If you wanted to get REALLY slick then you could combine photo's of all the
birds you want and their songs in the IPOD photo.

I notice that these ipods come in different sizes. How big does it have to
be to hold the Stokes Bird song cds for example? Or do folks recommend just

neat little gadgets to store bird songs. Does anyone tried this? I would
