A drive around the same area that Walter Ellison mentioned in Southern Cecil did prove to be still great areas for field birds. In the areas off of Old Telegraph Road, Middle Neck Road and Bohemia Mill produced many pairs of Grasshopper Sparrows, Vesper Sparrows, Field Sparrows, Blue Grosbeaks and Indigo Buntings are everywhere, Horned Larks, and 1 Pair of Kestrels. The Majority of Vespers were 1.5 miles on the left hand side on Middle Neck Road, when coming from Old Telegraph, but I did hear them sing in a couple other spots. At the intersection of Middle Neck and Old Telegraph I did have a very actively singing Kentucky Warbler, just up in the woods from the stream. I could hear it from my truck as I was driving up the hill, just to give you an idea of how close to the road the bird was.
Also the sediment pond on Williams Road was still busy with birds. There I had 1 Adult Little blue Heron, 2 Glossy Ibis, 6 Killdeer, 4 Cattle Egrets, and 1 Canvasback.
