Hi,

John Drummond told me about two good birds he turned
up today (July 3) while Atlasing in the Anacostia SE
block. These are near / in Clinton. One was a male
ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK, along a stream path north of
Surratts Road just west of Route 5; the other was a
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW on a path either north or west
(sorry, I can't quite remember) of nearby Buckler
Road, west of Brandywine Road.

Within sight of Rosecroft Raceway, in Anacostia CW
block, the singing GRASSHOPPER SPARROW Paul Pisano
discovered last weekend continued yesterday, July 2,
according to John. I heard a brief snatch of EASTERN
MEADOWLARK song today, so at least one of the pair I
found near Rosecroft Raceway last weekend continues.
Nearby, where the road goes through a forested area, I
watched from inside my car as an adult Wood Thrush
feed its young on the edge of the roadside pulloff.
