I spent a little time watching the Anacostia River today, hoping for a Least
Tern. No luck on the tern, but I did see an imm. LITTLE BLUE HERON fly
downriver and out of sight. I also saw 1 FORSTER'S TERN, my first for the
fall. LAUGHING GULLS were in smaller numbers that last week, only saw about
5.
At Kenilworth Park there was a flock of 14 LEAST SANDPIPERS in the last
parking lot. Only other shorebirds were KILLDEERS and 2 SPOTTED SANDPIPERS.
Good birding,
