I was out in fishing yesterday afternoon with my daughter and her boyfriend on the upper Elk River, not far from my house here in River Point landing in Elkton. We were on his boat, which is sad to say, much nicer than mine. There is something just not right about that. Anyway, to say that there was about 100 terns in the area is an under estimate. The majority were Forster's. There was a surprising amount of Least Terns. At one Point I counted 10 at the same time, thou I believe there was many more than that around. There was a constant flow of Caspian Terns coming down the river. Most were all viewable from the Triton Marina. In the Marina, I don't think there was a piling that didn't have a tern on it. There were a few Double-crested Cormorants, and Spotted Sandpipers as fly bys as well.

The Pond on Williams Road this morning contained, 2 Least Sandpipers, 1 Spotted, Both Yellow Legs 1 of each, 2 Little-blue Herons, 1 Great Egret, 1 Cattle Egret, and 1 Glossy Ibis.
