Hi all,
This morning while walking the dog, I was watching a female hummer
"leaf-bathing" in the wet tops of the spotted jewelweed. She would move from one top
to another, wetting herself very well and actually landing on the tops of
some of the plants, fluffing and preening before moving to another. She went to
probably 2 dozen plants before heading off to give herself a good sit-down
preening. She looked very wet after just bathing in a few plants, but spent
additional time gathering up water in her feathers, far longer than I would have
thought necessary.

Neat!
