A few of us from south of the border (Virginia) visited Lilypons, Hughes Hollow and the roads up to White's Ferry this morning, 8/7. Highlights were 2 singing male Dickcissels and numerous Bank Swallows. One Dickcissel was where he was supposed to be, on a wire over the soybean field at 24000 River Rd. The other one was just past there as you head towards White's Ferry. It was singing at the top of the first tree on the left past 24000. The tree had some sign posted on it about deer hunting. It sang constantly and gave us great looks.

The number of Bank Swallows, which I estimated at 1007, was tremendous. They covered the powerlines along the main entrance to the Patton Turf Farm, just past the 2nd Dickcissel.
