Hi all,
The grebe remained on the pond until last night, where it stayed in a small
"cove" between the mallard and a flock of geese, and by this morning all
were gone (though I suspect the geese and mallard will be back). Eastern
Kingbirds are still around and a young Baltimore Oriole was in the willows, as were
a pair of Green Herons and a Great Blue.

On the way home last night I stopped by Brown's Bridge (Ednor Rd.) and
scoped out the mudflats. Small flocks of Least Sandpipers mixed with smaller
numbers of Semi-palmated Sandpipers and lots of Killdeer along with a few Solitary
Sandpipers and a single Spotted Sandpiper. The water here is even lower this
week than last, so it is getting even better for shorebirds. Lots of exposed
mud, mostly on the Howard County side. Take a scope...
