I read somewhere that rubbing Vicks Vaporub around the hanging part of
the hummingbird feeder would keep ants out.  

I tried it, and to my total surprise, it works!

Hope all are having a nice summer. Mine has been great. 25 life birds in
Hawaii. 

Anyway, question, will ants getting into and around the hummingbird
feeder keep the birds away. Yesterday, a hummingbird came to my feeder,
check it out, and left (not even a sip). After inspection, I noticed
lots of ants. 

I'd think they'd like the extra, work free, morsel...
