Great People:
The bird was seen Sunday, Tuesday, and this morning {permission to post by
Norm Saunders} - This morning the bird was on the fence, east side of road
near just before the small stream on Holondel Road.
From Rt 15, go west on Rt 77 {Thurmont} - Through Smithsburg, through
Leitersburg turn right on Marsh Road - go about 2 miles and turn right onto
Holondel Rd -- go about 1/4 mile -- the bird was on the right {West} a short
while ago -- beautiful pale gray, almost whitish head, dark wings, and
salmon-pink flank -- Note the tail was lost yesterday -- We {Barbara, Bill Gearhart,
Mike Welch} met some PA birders there that had seen it yesterday {it had the
long tail}, but not today - - Denny Bingaman, the original spotter had seen a
Fork-tailed originally -- Invited Dale Gearhart out, Dale spotted the bird and
it wasn't the original bird {Denny reported Black head and very long tail -
Denny lives about a 1/4 mile from the location and saw the bird "carrying
sometime", perhaps nesting material - stopped and looked with binoculars, and
viola - Fork-tailed -- That was Wednesday afternoon, called Dale on Thursday,
posted to the MDOsprey by Paul O'Brien -- Hear is the link, note the August 19
post, plus several August 20 post:

Kline's Market - only business in town or go across the street to 1959 Buchanan
Hwy, there are feeders near the evergreens - walk down the driveway for a
better view ---- If you need gas, on Rt 16 one station was $2.35 and one $2.39!
