Hi again Jenny,
Also years ago, I cut down the very overgrown purple-leaf cherry tree the
developer had planted in our tiny front yard, as it shaded our yard too much.
I cut the tree down but left a stump about 18 inches high or so, cut nice and
evenly across the top and have had a very natural looking bird-bath base al
these years. It doesn't freeze and crack like the concrete ones either. My
bath is concrete with a plastic liner, easily taken in to clean and it also
keeps the birdbath from freezing. I have had it for years.
Maybe you could prune or cut what's left of your tree to hold a birdbath and
some smaller feeders? When you're dealt lemons, make lemonade!
