Bird observations today on the airfield at Patuxent
River Naval Air Station (St. Mary's County) include:

 6 E. Meadowlark
 7 Rock Pigeon
52 E. Starling
60 B-H Cowbird
21 Horned Lark
24 Upland Sandpiper
 7 Buff-breasted Sandpiper
25 Killdeer (including 1 black-bellied bird that
looked like an American Golden-plover; turned out to
be either a large black skin fibroma or a chunk of
tar-like substance stuck to the bird's breast)
