See Life Paulagics ran its annual summer trip out of Lewes, DE this past
Saturday, August 27.  An unexpected headwind blew up in the morning, making the
seas rather choppy and disorganized.  The ride back was much smoother.  We made
it out to the Baltimore Canyon, but did not have enough time to get up to the
Wilmington as we have sometimes done in the past.

Birding highlights of the trip included 7 Audubon's Shearwaters, and interesting
gathering of 500+ Wilson's Storm-Petrels, 1 Parasitic Jaeger, and 3 Red-necked
Phalaropes.  Mammal highlights included a wonderful display by both Pilot
Whales and Risso's Dolphin, as well as sightings of 6 Fin Whales.  The Pilot
Whales were not identified to species, but the nearly 80 degree blue water
would seem to favor Short-finned Pilot Whale.

Our next scheduled pelagic from Lewes is October 22.  This is a very
underexplored time of year for our pelagic waters.  We're hoping to find Manx
Shearwater, Greater Shearwater, Parasitic Jaeger, Red Phalarope, and who knows
