Hi All. I met up with Nicole Marquess and a very nice couple from Colora this morning at the first field on the trail out to the light house. As soon as I got out of my truck and started on the first leg of the trail to meet them, I encountered a nice pocket of birds. As Joel Martin mentioned in his part of the world on a previous posting, the Empids were everywhere and fun to study. Also I can't even describe what it is like at some points on the path when there is just a wall of birds moving along the tree line. There is always something in view hawking and flittering. Amazing, it really is. If you make plans to come up here. Try to time it so it is after a Cold front. Even if you can't time it like that, it is still great!
