Just new in posting on MDOsprey, My name is Amanda Spears and I am a student at Centreville Middle School in the 7th grade, and part of the Birding club there. 
 
Aug. 31, Wednesday, an advanced groupe of the birding club at Centreville Middle School went out to the Central Sod Farms at late afternoon, about 4:30, to look for the recent sightings of the American Golden Plovers and Buff Breasted Sandpipers. 

The Birds Seen is followed:

American Golden Plover      5+    1-2 in Full breeding plumage
Buff Breasted Sandpiper     3- 4
Semipalmated Sandpiper    2
Least Sandpiper                   3+
Dulin                                      2
Killdeer                                  many
Horned Larks                        many
Barn Swallow                        many
Bank Swallow                        2+
American Crow                     5
Starling                                  many
Laughing Gull                       many
Ring-billed Gull                    4+
Turkey Vulture                     2
Canada Goose                    2

Sunday, Aug.28, The Perigrine Falcon was spotted under the Bay Bridge around 5:00pm. Possibly nested. I was not sure if it had been spotted or breeding there this year.
