I haven't seen any postings today (Friday, 9/2) on bird sightings at
the area of Rock Creek Park near the Nature Center that is so popular
with birders during migration season.

However, I received a call yesterday, 9/1, from Jim Leonard, who
reported that he and others had seen a Brewster's Warbler (that's the
Golden Winged/Blue-winged hybrid with a dark line across the face and
golden wingbar(s). This was early a.m. Thursday at the "Maintenance
Yard," the overgrown area behind the NPS Maintenance Yard proper
where the NPS stores some materials. Jim said that this bird was
notably yellow in overall coloration.

Sorry to be a day late posting this. Weather forecasts for the next
few days indicate wind and sky conditions very favorable to
migration, so Rock Creek Park in DC might be the right place to be.

See you there, maybe!
