After a couple nice days last weekend, Ft. Bayard Park has been all quiet on the migration front for the last week. Today was not really an exception but I had one nice surprise--a juvenile Cooper's Hawk buzzed through right over my head. A new bird for my park list. Also new this morning was the apparent re-formation of the neighborhood robin gang--it's the first time since mid-spring that I've seen this large a flock here.
Ft. Bayard may not be a good enough migration stop to get many birds until the numbers start picking up--hopefully when the bigger pushes come the next few weeks, things will get more interesting!
