Hello
I went there, to the Lily Pons, yesterday morning with a friend and at first we didn't see too many birds except dozens of Tree Swallow flying back and forth.
But as we walked by some trees I looked up and saw a little yellow bird. It was a Philadelphia Vireo. My first one, and for the other guy, the first one he had ever seen at the Lily Pons.
Then we walked by an empty pond, lots of mud, and saw several Least Sandpipers and 2 Westerns in there. At another part of that pond I saw a sandpiper that looked different than the other ones. I told Steve, and he got closer, looked through his binoculars, and told me that he thinks that it is a Pectoral Sandpiper. We looked in his field guide, and yes, that's what it was, another lifer for me. Steve said that he had seen one there before, but that was several years ago.
At another spot I saw a female American Redstart, not a lifer, but a years first. But when we were leaving and going down Oland Rd., Steve stopped the car so I could get out and for my first time get a look at a Common Raven. It had that 'pointy' tail and was soaring around, so I know that it wasn't just a Crow.
 Marcus
