The Baltimore Bird Club Sunday morning walk at Cylburn Arboretum this
morning was a lot birdier than normal with 10 species of warblers.* (3
were seen by Paul Noell only on his trip down the stump dump trail,
mainly by the very large fallen tree around the first bend at the
top). We had good views of several Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, a
Baltimore Oriole, Scarlet Tanagers, Red-breasted Nuthatches, and Brown
Thrashers. I would estimate there were 5 to 10 Red-breasted Nuthatches
spread over several locations.

We were hoping for a big flight of Broadwings like we've had a few
times in past years. Unfortunately, we didn't see any at all. But we
did see 3 Ospreys, and one each of Kestrel, Sharp-shinned, Red-tailed
and Red-shouldered Hawks. There are several new benches in shaded
spots looking towards open sky to the north, ideal for searching for
migrating hawks.

* The warblers:
Northern Parula
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Magnolia Warbler
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler
Blackburnian Warbler
Pine Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
American Redstart
Common Yellowthroat

4 birders. 52 species.
