Dear All

I spent the first hour of the day around the riding center and Maintenance
Yard in Rock Creek park this morning. It was very pleasant easy paced
birding. There were quite a few folk out and about and certainly more
birds were seen by others than by myself. I managed the following
highlghts between 07.20-08.45.

Golden-crowned Kinglet 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 6
Baypoll Warbler 1
N. Parula 2
Tennessee Warbler 2
Black-throated Blue Warbler 1 (ad female)
Black & White Warbler 1
Blue-headed Vireo 1, perhaps 2
Red-eyed Vireo 2
Scarlet Tanager 1
Y B Sapsucker 1
Rose-breasted Grosbeak 1

Plus waves of Grackles and lots of cowbirds and jays going over.

I heard mention of Black-throted Green and Cape May Warblers plus White-
throated Sparrow seen by others than me.

On my return home there were Am. Redstart and E. Phoebe outside the house -
both new for the yard.

Cheers

Gary Allport
