The Talbot Bird Club used the fisherman's parking lot at Black Walnut
Point as a vantage point for hawk watching today (10/02). Club member
Andrew Bullen led the group, and a total of 20 people stopped in for at
least a portion of the morning.
    Hawks seen:
Osprey 4 - loitering rather than clearly migrating
        Northern Harrier 1
        Sharp-shinned Hawk 7
        Cooper's Hawk 1
Bald Eagle 11+ - some were loitering; others were moving right out
        Red-tailed Hawk 4
        Kestrel 1
        Merlin 1
        Peregrine Falcon 2
also - lots of Turkey Vultures and several Black Vultures.

A total of 55 bird species were either seen or heard. Other highlights
included:
        Surf Scoter
        Royal Tern
        Chimney Swift
        Bank Swallow
        Brown-headed Nuthatch
        Ruby-crowned Kinglet
        Wilson's Warbler
and an extensive parade of Blue Jays all morning long.
