Gary's post already covered most of the action at Rock Creek yesterday morning--I wish I'd started the day at the Yard like he did, since I would have loved to see the Tennesees! Anyway, I started at Picnic Area 17/18 on the ridge, where we had mostly poor looks at some of the same birds Gary mentioned, but also a Sharp-shinned Hawk, Magnolia Warbler, and a baypoll streaky enough to safely ID as a Blackpoll Warbler.
Somewhat later on, additional birds at the Maintenance Yard were a Brown Creeper, several Phoebes and a Pewee, and 3 White-throated Sparrows.
Since I'm already posting--Ft. Bayard Park was fairly uninteresting this morning except for a Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
