My insomniac treat last night was a pair of dueting Great Horned Owls around 2:00 a.m.  Only one was at close range.  Too late for the Atlas, but perhaps I'll get them again for 2006.  My close range owl was pretty consistent repeating a call about once a minute.

This explains the lack of rodents in my area all summer . . . .
