Hi Folks,

During an evening walk at Southwest Area Park (Baltimore Co.) yesterday
(Sun., 2 Oct), Elaine and I counted 13 Caspian Terns fishing along the
Patapsco River, adjacent to the park. This is the most I've seen here at
one time.

Also, of note, during the past week we have encountered three different
Gray-cheeked Thrushes. One on 24 Sep at Henryton along the Patapsco River
in Howard Co. during a Howard Co. bird walk; one on 1 Oct at the Middle
Patuxent Environmental Area during another Howard Co. bird walk; and the
best of all--one in our yard in Ferndale, AA Co., on 25 Sep.

Golden-crowned Kinglets were very vocal in our yard on Saturday (1 Oct).

The only other sightings ("hearings"?) of note this past week were two
different Screech-Owls, in different locations in Howard Co., calling
spontaneously during daylight hours, the first while I was making Barred Owl
calls. This happens so seldom, it's worth mentioning.
