At 11:45 this morning on the way to the PO, I saw a juvenile Golden Eagle
gaining altitude over Dameron from St. Jerome's Neck Road. It was low enough that
I easily got it in the scope for a positive ID. The bird was mostly dark,
with white wing patches & white tail with a black terminal band. The golden head
was clearly visible. Needless to say, it was a state bird for me.

There were a number of other raptors high beyond what I could ID even with
the scope. It must have been a great day at the hawk watches.
