The book is billed as a "distillation of all the advances in flight
identification of hawks since Pete Dunne's book" (or words to that
effect). I've just begun reading the species descriptions and it is
pretty impressive, moving completely away from traditional field
marks and focusing primarily on shape and flight style--all factors
that can be noted at great distances.
