On Croom Station Road (south side) there has been a flock of great egrets
roosting and feeding in the pond by Charles Branch (between road and RR
tracks) for several weeks now. I've seen as many as 32, but generally has
been about 20 birds for the last 10 days or so. On Monday (10/10) I
decided to look more carefully and noticed a smaller egret but couldn't id
it with my binoculars. On Tuesday I had my scope - it is a Little Blue
Heron (HY). It is likely still around; I didn't stop yesterday but think
I saw it again - I saw a smaller white bird with the flock of GREGs.
