Folks

While having breakfast yesterday, Gwen and I had a Dicksissel visit the platform feeder next to the dining room window. The female, maybe hatch year bird, was traveling in the company of House Finches. She stayed almost long enough for a picture. She returned briefly one more time and was not seen the rest of the day. She must be camera shy. I will be on the watch for her in case county listers are interested. This is the second Charles County for the species.

I also had lots of Chimney Swifts passing overhead, a very pale Pine Warbler, and eight more Rusty Blackbirds visit yesterday. This morning I heard my first Hermit Thrush and White-throated Sparrow for the fall season. More to come I suspect.

Heading out for a will goose chase.
