Hello all.

Made about a 2 and a half hour walk at Lake Roland today. Nice afternoon-
evening weather for it, too.

Highlights:

G. Blue Heron: 2 One by the falls and one in the Wood Duck pond
BCN Heron: 2 By the falls as I left
Wood Duck: 3 Two males and a female by the mudflats
RT Hawk: 1 High above the northern marsh area
Killdeer: 3 On the shore closest to the mudflats
Barred Owl: 1 Called several times from the marsh area, distant
E. Phoebe: 1 Watched it hunt for about 5 minutes
Yellow-rumped Warbler: 1 Seen by the concrete structure

Also:

C. Swift: Still a few
B. Kingfisher: 1
G. Catbird: 4
GC Kinglet: 2
RC Kinglet: 2
E. Towhee: 4 In two locations...always a favorite of mine.

Also, a Ribbon Snake about 12" long along the lower trail.

Best to all,

Matt Grey
