I was a bit surprised to see at first - more than two Hermit thrushes in my modest back yard this morning. One, then another, then a third, then 2 Eastern Phoebes giving chase, then more Hermit Thrushes started to appear out of the brush and around a mulch pile. 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and up to 9 at one time! Hard to keep up trying to figure out if any were Gray-Cheeked Thrushes. Does everyone use the lack of an eye-ring as the best ID to tell the difference?
No Juncos at the feeder either. Nice flock of Robins down the street.
