Neotropic Cormorant at Violette's Lock today and possible road closing tomorrow morning

I saw the bird this morning at 9am and talked to another birder who had seen
it even earlier.   George Jett et al were still looking at it at 11:15am.
The bird would disappear for short periods but continued to come back to the
horizontal fallen tree three fourths of the way across the river.  

 

I placed a 1 foot by 2 foot piece of aluminized padding along the towpath to
mark the small path to the river, fireplace (and trash). 

 

A birder in the parking area told me there were signs saying that River Road
would be closed from 10am until noon on Saturday.  I cannot vouch for the
sign but you might consider that if going there tomorrow.
