The Talbot Bird Club visited several sites in the region of Trappe, MD
on Oct 30 under the able leadership of club member Gordon Jennings. The day
got off to a great start with long and rewarding close up views of two Cape
May Warblers beside the parking lot of the DNR Park just north of the
Choptank Bridge (beside Rte 50). The grand finale for the day was a
fly-over by a beautiful Golden Eagle. The bird was flying low enough for
all to get great viewing as it passed directly over Trappe Landing. It
appeared to be headed toward Blackwater NWR. Between those highlights there
were 54 other species seen and fully enjoyed on such a beautiful day.
