Hi Janet.
 Birding at Blue Mash on Saturday with a group from The Backyard  Naturalist 
we saw 4-5 "brownie" Purple Finches. Here at home on Sunday while  walking the 
dog, I had my first purple Purple Finch this season, a pretty male  in the 
hedgerow. I've been seeing them at Layhill Park for the past couple of  weeks 
too. 

Red-tailed Hawks seem to be making  a push through this  weekend too.
