I took a late walk out to Turkey Point this afternoon. Started at around 12:15 and ended around 2:15. Right in the Parking lot as I started up the hill toward the light house I heard one call. Real Deep and Slow. Chick-adee, dee, dee ,dee, then another and another. By the time I got out of Park area, I had probably seen up to 10 Black-capped Chickadees if not even more. I heard 3 or 4 times the actual song. When I was at the hawk watch a small flock of about 5 Chickadee's, flew over the field toward the point. When they landed in the tree near me I heard one good deep call and then they went on toward the point. I don't know if they will continue invading Cecil and keep heading South or what.
I hope that everyone keeps a keen ear out for them down your way.
Other birds to mention, would be a late Baltimore Oriole. There were least 30 Purple Finches at the hawk watch eating in the Dogwood Trees behind the Picnic tables.
The Laughing Gulls were really moving. There were hundreds in the couple of hours I was there passing thru. It was hard to pick out the Hawks because of all of the Gulls. Many Ring-billed Gulls mixed in as well.
