Lunch time on Saturday...I saw a pair of common loons close to shore from the parking lot behind the restaurant at North Beach on the Bay.

Nice to be able to get a close look for so long a time. Grebes dive twice as fast. These Loons took a full two seconds or more to dive. 

I could see where their summer collar around the neck was blurred out. Like canvasback, the slope of their head met with the large bill/ It was not yellow after looking at it several times in different light. The spotted backs were also blurring away.
