Hi all,
 
Thanks to all who responded (so far) for my request for info, both in  
general and more specifically the Bird Song Finder. I have put all suggestions  in a 
file folder and will collect them for future use, so please keep your ideas  
coming folks!  Some of these things have been addressed already (mP3  player, 
on the Samsung Sport Camera) but if someone (or more than one) want to  write 
something as to a more specific product(s) that would be fine. 
    Other things, such as the idea suggested by Norm  for a birder's "goodie 
bag" may be addressed later. I know we all tend to carry  things which seem 
absolutely indispensable to each of us, and many of these  things would be of 
use to the average birder when traveling, so let me  know.  
    I have mostly dispensed with carrying big maps on  trips, having gotten a 
portable navigation system (the NAVMAN GPS is what  we have) for my vehicle . 
It plugs into the outlet in any vehicle, meaning  I can take it when we 
travel and rent a car. Very useful, and a possible future  review item. It makes 
getting around so much easier, especially in unfamiliar  territory.
 
Thanks again, but please continue with your ideas. This column works best  
with everyone's help.
