Here's an odd one for you all - a post from me.
I came out of birding retirement to lead a two-person trip to Town Hill
in search of the elusive Goshawk for the other person's list. Skunked again.
However we did get a very good look at a Golden Eagle. He came in rather low
and put on a show for us in very good sunlight on the east slope of the huge
mountain we were on. The only other raptor that came through was a male
Harrier. We arrived at about 9 AM and left at noon and we spent a half hour
or more hiking the little raod that goes back to the towers. Here is our
very accurate and precise count for the day.

Golden Eagle 1
Northern Harrier (headed south) 1
Red-tailed Hawkster 1 local, several others on the
way out & back
Cedar Waxwings Many
Juncos Lots
White-breasted Nuthatches Several
Black-capped Chickadees Numerous
Pileated Something 1, maybe 2
Downy Thing 1
Northern Flicker 2 or 3
Red-Bellied Other Thing 2
Ivory-billed Lord God Thing 0

And a special thanks to Keith Lott, who stopped for a few minutes , chatted
and spotted the Harrier.
