Cromwell Valley Park HawkWatch - Saturday, Nov. 19th and Sunday, Nov. 20th 2005

A late season Osprey was among the 26 migrants seen in two hours of coverage Saturday.
Four hours on Sunday produced 27 migrating raptors, with an additional hour spent in pursuit of
several Black-capped Chickadees. These were seen in a mixed flock which included both Red and
White-breasted Nuthatches, Brown Creeper, Golden-crowned Kinglet, Tufted Titmouse, Downy
Woodpecker and Carolina Chickadees. This mixed flock was in a small stand of Pines near the
Christmas tree farm. Thanks to Kevin Graff for showing me the Black-capped Chickadee, a rare
visitor to our area.
