The Howard County Bird Club had a walk to Centennial Park on Sunday. We had
a total of 50 species for the day. Species of note include:

Black-throated Green warbler
Gray Catbird
Red-breasted Nuthatch
Rusty Blackbird (3 separate sightings)
Fox Sparrow
Pied-bielled Grebe
Ring-necked Duck
Bufflehead
Ruddy Duck
Northern Pintail

The warbler is a late record for Howard County, the previous late record
being October 28th (info from Jo Solem). It was either acting curiously or
with a behavior that I hadn't seen before. After watching it feed for a few
minutes, it went to a limb a just sat for at least 10 minutes (we had to
continue the walk) allowing us to photograph it. It was an immature and was all
fluffed up. My question is, is this a migrant in trouble or did it just fly
all night, get a bite to eat in the morning and then sack out for the day?
It wasn't in the same spot when we got around the lake a couple of hours
later. I checked the field guide to be sure it wasn't an immature western warbler
like a Townsend's for instance and am satisfied that it wasn't.
