Hi, everybody--

The last reported sighting of the KEGU (that we know of) was 4/4/05. That no one reported it during the summer and early fall wasn't necessarily surprising, but the gull is getting old (at least 11 years old, by our reckoning) and one wonders when the day will come when it simply doesn't show back up...
If history holds, it c/should show up any time now--autumn is when it starts to be seen more reliably and winter is when it's around almost daily (so one could think it's actually overdue). Tyler and I stopped by in October and talked with some of the few remaining "old hands" at the Sea Breeze and they confirmed that it just hasn't been around over the summer (consistent with previous years). It wasn't around the several times in October and early November that we stopped in either.
Somebody might get to be the lucky ones to refind it, but who knows?... Jane Kostenko

Subject: St. Mary's Kelp Gull?

Can anyone tell me if the Kelp Gull is back at it's usual spot in St. Mary's
County this year? I have company coming from California who'd like to see it,
and I haven't seen any posting about it.

Thanks!
