FYI, the diagrams take a *long* time to load.

According to the website:

"The group is recommending that a multi-use trail for walkers,
joggers and bikers serve as the main element in all plans to enhance
recreation along the Canal . "

>I would like to take this opportunity to update you on the progress
>we have made since the launch of a study to enhance recreation
>opportunities along the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal last
>year. Momentum is gaining and I am pleased to report that we are
>now in the conceptual design phase for creating a multi-purpose
>trail from Delaware City to Chesapeake City on both the north and
>south banks of the Canal.
>
>As you may know our Working Group conducted two public workshops,
>one in Delaware and one in Maryland, in April 2005, to incorporate
>the recreational interests of the surrounding communities into the
>study. The feedback has been extremely helpful and positive.
>
>Based on community views, the Working Group has collaborated with
>Andropogon & Associates, a landscape architecture firm, to develop
>conceptual designs for the trail. A second round of public
>workshops are scheduled for early December, the specifics of which
>are listed above, at which time the Working Group will showcase the
>conceptual designs and the proposed plan for implementing a
>multi-purpose path, and I sincerely hope you will be able to join us.
>
>There are many ways you can get involved in this exciting
>project: participate in the public workshops; write a letter to the
>editor of your local newspaper; or, encourage your organization to
>endorse the project. With your support I know a multi-purpose trail
>along the C&D Canal will become a reality.
>
>Thank you again for your continued interest in the C&D Canal
>recreation project. Please feel free to distribute this memorandum
>to your contacts.
