Hello,

I saw a BALTIMORE ORIOLE in Charles County at Smallwood State Park, on the afternoon of December 3. It was in a group of juniper (cedar) trees near the end of the road to the marina, along with some Cedar Waxwings and a territorial Northern Mockingbird. I saw it at less than 50 foot distance through my car windshield, and noted that the sides of the face were kind of brownish, there was no obvious patterning on the head, the breast was orange, and the top of the upper wingbar had an even margin.

Other birds I saw at Smallwood State Park on my first visit there included a flock of 24 LONG-TAILED DUCKS flying overhead, 3 Bald Eagles, about a dozen BONAPARTE'S GULLS, and about half a dozen FORSTER'S TERNS.

  Cheers,
