Subject: Poplar Island Sightings from Nov 28, 2005

            This report is submitted on behalf of Jan Reese of Talbot
County, who continues to periodically survey the flora and fauna of Poplar
Island. Jan suggested that some birders might find some of the census
anomalies particularly interesting this time.  For example, southern
latitude species like Brown Pelican with a nearby Lapland Longspur, and very
late south transient Semipalmated Plover. Semipalmated Sandpiper and Western
Sandpiper with nearby early south transient Tundra Swan, Purple Sandpiper
and Snow Bunting. 

            These sightings include the birds seen on Nov 28, 2005.  Some of
the birds were seen from the boat during the trip from Tilghman Island and
back.
