In my back yard is a large azalea bush where about 20 House Sparrows like to hang out in the winter. The local Coopers Hawks know this. I've seen adult and immature hawks perched in a nearby maple watching the shrub. Today about 2 pm my wife & I saw an immature Coopers Hawk having House Sparrow for lunch. The hawk was feeding on the ground near the azalea and next to my back steps, just below the dining room window.
