MD Osprey:

Below is a forwarded email announcement for the 2006 Tim Schantz Memorial
Scholarship, which includes a trip to the 2006 Kachemak Bay Shorebird
Festival in Homer, Alaska this May.

Tim Schantz was an excellent birder, a superb leader, a great person, and a
good friend of ours who died of a massive cardiac arrest in the Nome
airport on his way to lead a trip to Gambell, Alaska in 2001. Tim was 37
years old when he died. Having just spent the week before with him in the
Pribiloffs, Barbara and I learned of his death the following day, when we
were looking forward to seeing him again at Gambell.

It would be great to have a Maryland birder be selected for this scholarship!

If you would like a copy of the one-page announcement (an MS Word file)
that provides some additional details and contact information, let me know.

(Got your ears on, Centreville Middle School ... ???)

Thanks.

Phil
